This project grew out of a programming and master planning process for the Marshfield Clinic’s 550-physician Main Clinic campus.  It identified a free-standing facility for surgical specialties as the first element of a long-range development plan for creating more visible and accessible settings for high-profile services including cancer care and interventional radiology. 

The East Wing presented the opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of a richer material palette, ample daylight and more generous common spaces in supporting better staff performance, improved patient satisfaction and better outcomes. The success of this design led to development of a comprehensive renovation & refinishing program for the adjacent Main Clinic.
